Barley Station is a triple-fronted band (two male, one female) whose music combines the roots of Americana, Pop/Rock, Country, and Folk and puts them in a blender with a dash of amaretto pouring out a tasty glass of sound. The result is a distinctly alternative blend that draws deeply from its roots yet looks forward and to the future.

The music features two, three, and occasionally four-part harmonies, driving rhythms, and contagious melodies. The songwriting covers the whole gamut of emotions moving from upbeat bright material to darker or introspective moods. The sound is punctuated throughout with rootsy alternative country, bright pop/rock to progressive folk and alternative pop/rock sensibilities.

And then there were FOUR. ---We have some big, good, and important news to report. Very important to let you know that our original CD release date has to be changed, but only slightly, and for a good reason. --- We wish to give a warm welcome to a new permanent member. Enter: Emily Catherine Thomas. She has a voice of gold and blends in harmony with us so, so well. She will be playing primarily rhythm guitar, singing, and is a part of the writing team as well. We all have great chemistry and we are all a rare musical and creative find to each other. --- Right as the album we were finishing was about to go to press, we stopped the presses to get a bit of her talent on this recording. Knowing we have to sacrifice a Valentines Day release we were thinking of what other special day to do it on. We still want a special day to release this very special Album/CD. Solution? It is a leap year! Soooo, now we are going with February 29 as the new release date. Yes, it is a leap year! The way we see it, this album will only be a year old in four years when the next leap year happens. :D --- We are working Emily into some of the songs since she will be joining us anyway on a permanent basis. So we apologize for a small delay on the release date, but it will be worth it! As we have prepared for the live show with her, we have all felt that rare magical musical chemistry and knew it was going to happen. --- Now, the songs that you may have heard or may own, in various places on the internet, digital downloads, etc. Reverb Nation, Jango, or on the various radio stations that have downloaded and spun songs, or the singles released already, hang onto those because most of the songs on the album released have been improved, tweaked, fixed up, and even changed. "Common Knowledge", for instance was completely revamped from the single version and is vastly improved. So if you have the singles, hang on to them, and we don't have to tell you why. --- Our CD release show will still be in St. Louis, MO on the 19th, and tickets are still available, but the venue is filling fast. For those of you coming to the show, if we don't have the pre-released CDS in hand, we will have a list so that you can get the CD mailed to you as soon as it is available to us from the manufacturer. Then on February 29, it will be Officially released and digitally available. We will have another announcement shortly before hand as a reminder. --- And we hope soon enough to have some more concert dates to share with you. Dallas/Fort Worth, TX and Nashville, TN are still definitely in the planning, but no date yet. If anyone has a U.S. city suggestion please email us at: booking@barleystationmusic.com.
